Friends of Mitchell is happy to announce two new board members, Ms. Annemarie (Strom) Robinovitz – First Grade teacher and Molly Catalano – 1st grade and prek parent. The board has also elected new leadership. Julie Demange and Niki Buse will serve as Co-Chairs, Cynthia Bednarz will continue as Treasurer, and Beth Gomez has been elected Secretary. A big thank you to retiring board members, Carmen Cortez, Nydia Morelos, Ms. Schoenbeck and Ms. Riefenberg for their years of service to Friends of Mitchell.
Friends of Mitchell’s next meeting is Friday, November 21st at 8:30am. Come join us after drop off for some coffee and to learn what Friends of Mitchell is doing for our great school.
Mark your calendars, prepare your costumes, and get ready for Mitchell’s 2nd Annual Barnes & Noble Bookfair! On Sunday October 26th 10am-6pm join Mitchell families and teachers at the Barnes & Noble on Webster and Clyborn for some good Halloween Family Fun. The teachers will be reading their favorite stories, costumes are encouraged and a portion of every purchase – when Mitchell is mentioned at checkout – goes back to the school. Report Card Pick Up is around the corner. After Report Card Pick Up please join us at Fatpour, 2005 W Division, for an easy dinner and special children’s menu. Fatpour is donating 20% of tabs between 5-9pm on November 12th.
During Report Card Pick there will be a Uniform Swap in the Media Center. There are a lot of smaller sizes as well as uniforms for all ages. Please come check out what is available. If you don’t have anything to swap, not a problem.
Scholastic Book Fair will be at the school November 10-14 during school hours and from 11-6 on November 12th for Report Card Pick Up. Volunteers are needed on the 12th as well as during lunchtime on the other days.
Mom’s Night Out and Dad’s Night Out were both big successes! Thank you to the local businesses who hosted the events and donated items for the raffles. Thank you to all the parents who came out and made each night so memorable. Mom’s Night Out raised $350 and Dad’s Night Out raised $516 for Mitchell!!!
