About Us

Driven by volunteerism friends of Mitchell (FoM) is comprised of parents, teachers, and members of the community. We support Mitchell Elementary through fundraising and other volunteer activities with a commitment to make Mitchell a great school for all its students. As a 501(c)(3) we accept tax deductible donations. All Mitchell families are welcome and encouraged to join FoM in supporting our school.
FoM meetings are held at the school. Check the school calendar for our meeting dates!

This weekend’s FOM events

Friday, February 23rd 7pm- Dads’ Night Out at On Tour Brewing Co. Bring a bottle of wine for the Wine Wagon.

Saturday, February 24th 10am-Noon - Adopt-A-Flower paint-a-thon. Help us beautify campus. Paint a flower to be hung on the NW corner fence in the spring.

Friends of Mitchell and Mitchell School have been awarded 2 grants! We are the recipients of the Nature Works Everywhere and the Lowe's Toolbox for Education grants.

Nature Works Everywhere Grant $2000
This is a grant through the Nature Conservancy and will be used to create a small new Learning Native Garden along the gym. Check us out on the list of winners! If you have children that are very interested in nature, the Nature Works Everywhere website has some good learning videos about environmental issues and environmental conservation.

Lowe's Tool Box for Education Grant $5000
This is a grant awarded by Lowe's Home Improvement and will be used to build a sun shade for the garden table. http://toolboxforeducation.com/about.html

We've also been given a new rain barrel from Nestlé to aid in the care of the new learning garden!
